Overview:

This is a Vocational Related Qualification (VQ) (VRQ). It entails learning the skills and knowledge required for a variety of railway engineering positions. VRQs are mapped to national occupational standards and are designed to assist a learner joining the railway engineering field with their education and training. The completion of this VRQ will assist learners in further improving their skills and potential in the field of railway engineering. In the Enginuity Level 2 Rail Infrastructure Apprenticeship Framework, this certificate is also a Technical Certificate.

Qualification pre-requisites:

Learners are not required to have any prerequisite qualifications or be of a certain age to pursue this qualification unless it is a legal requirement of the procedure or the environment. Any learner who has the potential to meet the assessment criteria can participate in the assessment.

Who is this qualification for?:

Learners that are enrolled in an engineering apprenticeship and want to graduate to a more advanced apprenticeship. Those who work in the railway engineering field and want to pursue a Level 2 knowledge qualification. Those who are new to railway engineering yet want to make a career move and gain new information and abilities in the sector.

How is this qualification assessed?:

One or more assessments created by the Centre are used to assess the qualification. The Centre develops these assessments locally, and they can be used for a variety of rail engineering activities. All evaluations created by the Center must follow EAL procedures and be authorised by EAL before being used. This qualification does not require learners to pass an exam.
