Engineering Supervisor Re-Cert
The purpose of this course is to evaluate delegates’ grasp of what it takes to be in charge of a workplace inside a possession, to construct, manage, and dismantle worksites, and to authorise the passage of trains into or within the worksite.
In accordance with NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements, it is the Sponsor’s duty to verify that applicants booked onto the course are eligible for the training they will receive, as well as any applicable medical level or limitation that may apply.
Candidates should be informed that they will be treated as if they were at work when attending a training event, and they must adhere to the applicable medical policy and carry their Sentinel Smartcard, which will be swiped at the start of the session.
Pre-Requisite Requirements
- Must be a minimum age of 18.
- Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements to minimum medical level 2 (must have normal colour vision) and Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).
- Must have sufficient command of English language as detailed in Network Rail Company Specification NR/S/CTM/021 (Competence & Training in Track Safety).
- Must bring Sentinel smart card with valid ES competency. Please be advised that the competency can only be recertified if it is valid or within the 8 week grace period.
- ES Logbook with a minimum of 4 entries since the interim assessment endorsed by Line Manager or Supervisor and 2 management reviews. Work Experience Logbooks not meeting these requirements will result in candidates not being eligible to continue with the course.
- Network Rail Handbook modules 1, 6, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15 (we recommend that you revise these modules before attending the course).
- Photo ID – For British Nationals – a current and valid recognised, branded form of identity token, used for accessing the RMI (Railway Maintained Infrastructure) such as a Sentinel Card, full driving licence, passport, biometric ID Card, resident permit as per Home Office guidance or ‘ValIDate’ card. For Non-British Nationals – a current and valid passport is required.
Individual trainees’ managers are responsible for determining their suitability to attend the course in line with the current issue of NR/L2/CTM/021 Competence and Training in Track Safety.
