Who is this course aimed at?

Individuals who have already completed the basic SMSTS course must have a valid certificate in order to take the refresher course.

The following topics are covered in the course:

Construction Skills administers this course, which is intended for anyone in charge of planning, organising, monitoring, regulating, or administering a workforce. Site managers, future site managers, supervisors, and anybody with health and safety duties are typical candidates.

• Legal duties for health and safety at work
• Managing health and safety at work
• Risk assessments
• Management of sub-contractors
• Measuring and monitoring performance
• Hazards – Asbestos, electricity, and fire
• New roads and streetworks
• Working at Height

Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate.

The following four criteria are used to grade the course:

• Complete attendance at all sessions
• Completed key exercises during the course
• Overall evaluation by the tutor
• Written examination paper

Construction Skills will offer the SMSTS certificate to successful candidates.
