Who is this course aimed at?

This course complements the IPAF access platform course by providing applicants with a deeper understanding of harnesses and how to use them. It will teach candidates how to properly select, inspect, and use harnesses for general use or for use with Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPS).

• MEWPs and harnesses
• Hierarchy of hazard avoidance measures
• Choice of harness and lanyard
• Manufacturer testing of harnesses
• Pre-use checks and correct usage
• Safe working loads and limitations
• Rescue circumstances
• Record-keeping

Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate.

A brief written test will be given to the candidates. IPAF does not offer a separate harness licence, but successful candidates will have the harness qualification added to their current IPAF licence. The licence is recognised all over the world.
